What are the benefits of Tackifiers?

A tackifier will often times be mixed and sprayed in conjunction with mulch and seed to help the materials adhere to the soil, so that they don’t get washed away after the first storm event. Tackifiers help increase the viscosity of the slurry, reduces splashing, bind the seed and mulch together, and retain moisture in the soil. They can even be effective in reducing erosion when used alone as a soil treatment.
