Limited to a shallow undercut due to existing underground utilities and facing soft soil challenges with a subgrade CBR of 0.9%, Tensar InterAx geogrid with 6” of dense graded aggregate passed proof roll and allowed for the paving of the tennis courts without impacting the existing utilities below.

Due to soft soils with CBRs as low as 1.5%, a concern that the underlying soils would cause premature failure for a proposed asphalt pavement under heavy truck loads. Tensar InterAg geogrid with a 14” aggregate base met the long-term goals with minimal maintenance.
